Indie authors and readers love her work. “She’s my crush!”, “Her voice gives my words a fresh interpretation that I love”, and “[Her] facility with accents and conveying characters’ emotions is beyond compare”.

Melinda has become a “doggone great” narrator with over 30 audiobooks and counting.  Her training includes community theater and improv, as well as coaching from Joel Froomkin (Acting for Audiobooks, Audiobooks at Sea), PJ Ochlan’s Masterclass series, Chris Ciulla’s weekly workouts and coaching (Leonardo Audiobooks), and Jesse Bickford.  Thanks to all of you!

Every book prep draws upon her overseas experiences. Insights into business and computer texts, scientific and medical texts, are fueled by her work at IBM, the Department of Defense (Germany), and as a research scientist and doctor of veterinary medicine. A dash of empathy and comedy leaven many of her narrations thanks to work as a children’s librarian and storyteller and having a playful heart.

Melinda prefers contemporary fiction, historical fiction, cozy mysteries, and fantasy. In non-fiction, she excels in popular science, technology, medical self-help, animal behavior and memoirs. And anything that has to do with the brain. Because she also holds a PhD in neuroscience.

Above all, her love of her dogs colors her life, and produces mounds of fur that fly from the windows of her car when she speeds down the road to the next author event!
